Aqela Adib Azizi

Public Relations Officer

She is an Afghan-born women’s rights activist, communications professional, and community service worker with over 15 years of experience advocating for girls’ education, women’s empowerment, and human rights. She has worked extensively in remote and culturally sensitive areas of Afghanistan, overcoming social, security, and religious barriers to promote access to education for girls and women. Aqela holds a degree in Journalism and Mass Media from Herat University, a Community Service Worker Diploma from Oxford College in Canada, and additional certifications in Canadian workplace foundations and community engagement from York University. In Afghanistan, she served as a Public Relations Officer with the Ministry of Education, coordinating outreach to remote communities and families. Now based in Canada, she continues her dedication to social justice, newcomer support, and community development through advocacy, communication, and grassroots initiatives, firmly believing in education as a powerful driver of empowerment and lasting change.
