Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Afghanistan to the United Nations in Geneva

Dr. Nasir Ahmad Andisha is a senior Afghan diplomat and international relations expert. He holds master’s and doctoral degrees from Texas A&M University and the Australian National University. He served as Afghanistan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2015 to 2019 and as Ambassador to Australia from 2011 to 2015. In his current role as Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, he represents Afghanistan in international forums on humanitarian affairs, human rights, and international law. He is a strong international advocate for women’s rights, justice, accountability, and against gender apartheid.
