Introduction

The Bareen Initiative for Development (BID) is an independent, non-profit development organization primarily focused on providing essential support and services to marginalized communities affected by war, poverty, and displacement in Afghanistan. BID advocates for human rights and women’s rights, as well as empowering youth in these communities. The organization offers humanitarian aid, education, legal advocacy, and health services to improve the lives of families and neighbourhoods in conflict-ridden societies, primarily focusing on Afghanistan. BID is dedicated to addressing the basic needs of these communities, supporting them in achieving their goals, and creating a more just, equitable, and inclusive society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to a brighter future. Additionally, we aim to create an intellectual space for dialogue on human rights and women’s rights situation in Afghanistan, fostering open discussions and awareness to bring about positive change. BID is committed to empowering Afghan communities and helping them to rebuild their lives.

Bareen represents the concept of heaven, and we aspire to create a small piece of heaven on earth for families and communities in need. We strive to provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment that empowers individuals and fosters resilience, enabling them to overcome their challenges and build a better future for themselves and their communities.

By embodying the values of compassion, integrity, and social responsibility, we aim to create an enabling environment where individuals and families have access to fundamental human rights and the opportunity to thrive without regard to nationality, race, or socio-economic status. Our goal is to positively impact the lives of those vulnerable and facing barriers, contributing to more just, equitable, and peaceful societies.
